My Qualifications
My name is Donna Lockaby-Morrow, LMFT. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, seniors and families. I am licensed in NC, TN and VA.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP II) with advanced training in this area. I also have extensive training in working with complicated relationship dynamics, anxiety, OCD, depression and life transitions. In addition, I have years of experience working with individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community with an emphasis on teens and young adults struggling with gender identity and sexual orientation issues. I also have experience working with clients who have high functioning autism and families who have children with special needs. In addition, I was a counselor and assistant director of a federal TRIO program for first generation, income eligible college students at East TN State University for 19 years.
What makes Lockaby Counseling different?
- The connection between a therapist and their client is the most important variable in predicting a positive outcome in therapy so that is where I put my focus: sitting with and listening to my clients’ stories in order to fully understand their struggles and concerns.
- Once our therapeutic relationship is established, I utilize my trainings in Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Attachment Theory to help my clients meet their goals.
